Queen

Queen is my favorite band to listen to. I love their family connection, and how even though they fell apart at one point, they came back together because true family stays by each other no matter what. My favorite songs are “Somebody to Love”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, and “We Are The Champions”. It breaks my heart that I will never have seen Queen in its true form perform onstage, but I can only imagine how magical it must be.

The Beatles

Perhaps the most iconic band ever, the Beatles. I love how you can almost feel their connection to each other in the songs. One of the only songs that can comfort me at any point of my life, whether I am distressed, or feeling upset, confused, or lonely, questioning why something has happened to me, I think back to “Let it Be”. This song holds a special place in my heart, being there for me through so much. The lyrics really not only speak to me, but hold onto me, telling me everything will be ok.

Billy Joel

Another one of my favorite artists is Billy Joel. Growing up on Long Island, New York, I feel like I relate to his music and his life. I love when he plays music about places on Long Island or in New York because it brings back familiar memories of my childhood. Some of my personal favorites include “Piano Man”, “Scenes of an Italian Restaurant”, “Baby Grand”, and “New York State of Mind”. His music varies in emotion, a song to fit every mood. Every song has a story to tell, and I will always listen.

Elton John

My absolute favorite artist is hands-down Elton John. His ability to express his creativity, brilliance, and individuality through music that brings people together is one of the most amazing gifts I have ever experienced. His music has been there for me through so much. When I felt sad and lonely, his music consoled me in ways people couldn’t. Throughout my entire life, a roller coaster of ups and downs, his music has never failed to make me smile. When I feel excited and joyful, I play his upbeat and catchy music that makes my heart genuinely full and happy.  I’m not kidding when I tell you I cry every time I am in his presence- pictures, songs, videos, everything. I feel like I have truly developed an emotional connection to him. Elton John, you hold a very special place in my heart.
